jurassic (jackson) park

I love Jurassic Park so much that I decided to visit it in person. Just kidding! About visiting of course...not about the movie which I would never joke about because it's my favorite.

We stumbled upon the lost wooded island in Jackson Park while trying to find the Osaka Garden, located at the end of the lagoon. I've since learned that this historic, isolated prairie-land is full of trees that are almost 300 years old, dead & alive and it felt like we were the only ones left in the (lost) world.

Eventually we made it back to civilization & found the Osaka Garden, which was lovely & serene, but didn't compare to the path we took to get there. I call that a life lesson (prehistoric or present).

  4. This was great! Thanks for sharing this beautiful hidden spot. I've been through here many times over the years but not to this little location. Now here is one for you. Dress warm but check out Northerly Island. The old Meigs Field. It's like a huge private garden with an incredible city view. Bike it or go for a long walk and don't forget to bring the pooch. Mine loves it here. Park by the Planetarium then head south.
